Beef Satay

  1. 150g minute steak (approx 4)
  2. 16 bamboo or metal skewers
  3. 1 tbsp roughly chopped fresh ginger
  4. 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  5. 1-3 small red chillies, roughly chopped (add to taste)
  6. 2 tbsp Fountain Satay Sauce
  7. 1 tbsp Fountain Soy Sauce
  8. vegetable oil, for cooking
  9. extra Satay Sauce, to serve


  1. Cut the minute steaks into strips approximately 3 centimetres wide and thread onto bamboo or metal skewers. Arrange in a glass or ceramic dish, or line a tray with baking paper and place satay sticks on that.
  2. In a mortar and pestle or the small bowl of a food processor combine ginger, garlic, chillies, Fountain Satay Sauce and Fountain Soy Sauce to a rough paste.
  3. Combine marinade with the satay skewers, turning the skewers to coat the meat well. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to cook.
  4. To cook, heat a barbecue char-grill plate or a frying pan and brush or spray with a little vegetable oil. Cook the satay skewers for a few minutes each side and serve with extra Fountain Satay Sauce for dipping.
